The cast of “Teen Mom OG” is about to get a shakeup. Currently, the production team is filming “Teen Mom 2,” but there is no doubt about another season for the original show at the end of the year. With the firing of Farrah Abraham, rumors have been swirling about a replacement. Of course, if you let her tell it, she quit the show. Abraham has many other endeavors and reality television isn't a priority in her life anymore.

Replacement rumors

Rumors have been swirling since October about who could possibly replace Farrah Abraham on “Teen Mom OG.” According to The Ashley, it looks like the front-runner for the job is Mackenzie Standifer.

That's right, the wife of Ryan Edwards may be joining the show full-time. This would be interesting, especially given the fact that the other moms are definitely not fans of hers. She verbally attacked Maci Bookout at the reunion, and Amber Portwood was ready to throw down with her. It would make for great television though. In a business where ratings are everything, this would be the smartest move for MTV.

The only other name being seriously considered is Mackenzie McKee. She is from “Teen Mom 3.” Fans will remember her reaction when Briana DeJesus was tapped to join “Teen Mom 2” over her. Salty isn't even the right word to describe her outburst. Now, McKee is relevant again because her mother is battling brain cancer.

She is a mess and various “Teen Mom” groups across social media have dedicated posts to bashing her. It was confirmed that a filming crew was with her, though it looks like it is only for a special right now. There could be a gig in it, but Mackenzie Standifer is the first choice.

Reactions

Either girl chosen will cause a rash of reactions among the “Teen Mom OG” women.

They have become a close group, even vacationing together while leaving Farrah Abraham out of the loop. While Mackenzie McKee doesn't have any current beef with these girls, she also isn't the first choice. Mackenzie Standifer will make waves and that is exactly what MTV needs to keep the show interesting. Also, she is already on the show because of her involvement in Maci Bookout's story.

Things could get interesting really fast next season.

Fans are excited to see how this will play out, especially when the newbie meets the other girls. At the very least, there will be a "Being Mackenzie" special airing on MTV at some point in the near future as it is currently being filmed.
