It looks like Duggar Family Member Derick Dillard is in the news, yet again, and this time it is for all the wrong reasons. A few days ago Dillard posted on social media about his invite to the LGBTQ+ community for a conversion church ceremony. It obviously annoyed many Duggar fans online, but it also annoyed a member of his family. This family member would be Jim-Bob Duggar, so it is safe to say that Dillard is not Jim-Bob’s favorite son-in-law. Readers may recall, that this is not the first time that Dillard has angered the LGBTQ+ community as he was actually kicked off the family’s TLC reality television series “Counting On” after he made transphobic remarks about Jazz Jennings.

Why was this Duggar family member annoyed with Derick Dillard?

As mentioned above, Jim-Bob Duggar was rather annoyed with Derick Dillard for promoting this conversion ceremony, but it may not be for the reason you think. If you have been following this family for a while, then you would know that the Duggar family is not exactly the biggest supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. For instance, the family is a proponent of "conversion therapy,” a practice that is so damaging that Washington actually banned it. However, the reason Jim-Bob was annoyed was due to the fact that Dillard also invited atheists to this conversion ceremony. This angered Jim-Bob, because he isn’t too thrilled about sharing his beliefs about homosexuality with a bunch of people who may have very opposing views than him.

This is not the first time that Dillard has allegedly fallen out with Jim-Bob, as he was also not very happy that Dillard got kicked off the family’s television series “Counting On.” Once he was kicked off the series, he allegedly relied on fan donations online to provide for his family instead of getting an actual job.
