Sure, coincidences happen, but the internet has thought about this too. Yes, we’re talking about the fact that Kylie Jenner just happened to be pregnant at the same time Kim Kardashian West was expecting a baby girl via a surrogate. The rumors started in September that Kylie may be Kim’s surrogate and the internet took it upon themselves to investigate who the real surrogate was.

Recently Kim shared all the details about her Gestational Carrier and put all rumors to rest.

What is a gestational carrier?

A gestational carrier refers to a woman who carries and delivers the baby on behalf of a person or a couple.

The woman can sometimes be called a gestational carrier or a surrogate. It is also important to note that, the baby is not genetically related to the surrogate as the egg comes from an egg donor or the intended mother while the sperm comes from a sperm donor or the intended father. Why most people undertake this procedure may either be because, they don’t have a uterus, complications or problems with their uterus, failed fertility treatments or finally because it’s a single parent or same-sex couple.

Negotiations in this procedure can be done privately or through an agency. It is a very complex and emotionally intense process that also involves quite a bit of money, time and patience. Gestational surrogates are usually compensated depending on the agreements among the parties.

Did Kylie do Kim the ultimate favor?

Kim wrote all about the pregnancy procedure and also confirmed whether or not if Kylie was the surrogate. “After exploring many options, Kanye and I decided to use a gestational carrier, although I have used the term surrogate in the past, the right term is actually gestational carrier which refers to a woman who carries a baby that she has no biological relationship with.” There you have it straight from Kim's mouth.

From the details of that statement, it’s not her youngest sister Kylie who carried the baby. She went further to explain that although someone else carried the baby, it’s still technically her and Kanye’s child as it was her egg and Kanye’s sperm that was used.

On the other hand, with just weeks left to go before her due date, pregnant Kylie Jenner is getting ready to be a first-time mom.
