Locklear continues her battle with booze
Things have really spiraled out of control, for Heather, since September when she was injured in a car accident where she broke her collarbone.
It is believed that Locklear has been in treatment since Thanksgiving after friends noticed that she was MIA from the holiday festivities. Friends closest to Heather said it was as if she just suddenly "disappeared."
Heather's last known attempt at treatment came last January after she reportedly suffered a major breakdown brought on by excessive alcohol use combined with benzodiazepines( Xanax, Valium, etc.) Her public substance abuse battle began in 2008 when she was stopped by police officers after she was spotted driving erratically and was charged with suspicion of DUI. Since 2008, she has had a number of run-ins with the law for substance abuse and mental instability.
The 56-year-old has one daughter, model, Ava Sambora, 20, with ex-husband number two, former Bon Jovi lead guitarist Richie Sambora.
Sambora made huge news headlines back in 2013 after he abruptly decided to leave Bon Jovi mid-tour without notice after 30 years. He was replaced by guitarist Phil X and is expected to join Bon Jovi at the upcoming 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Cleveland's historic Public Hall.
Locklear's family continues to offer their full support to Heather and hopes that this time Heather will get clean and stay clean before it is too late. Heather Locklear is best known for her role in as Amanda Woodrow in the hit evening soap drama "Melrose Place" which ran from 1993-1999. It would be great to finally see her get healthy and sober once and for all for herself and her daughter Ava. However, it will be a long and difficult journey for the troubled actress. Best wishes Heather.
