“Supergirl” season 3 will finally return this week, and the series picks up with a darker era for Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) as she deals with the exit of Mon-El (Chris Wood). She will be busy focusing on herself as a superhero.

The previous season did not end well for Kara Danvers. It can be recalled how Mon-El had to leave planet Earth for his own safety. Kara was left with no choice letting him, but this decision is set to give a huge impact for the female protagonist. Along the way, Kara Zor-el seems to realize that she can only deal with this tragic incident through her Supergirl persona, the tough superhero in National City.

Season 3 Episode 1

Kara’s emotional state may not be well in Season 3, but viewers will see her working harder to protect National City. In fact, the upcoming season’s recently released trailer shows that the city might even honor her, building a statue on her behalf. According to FANSIDED, the synopsis for “Supergirl” Season 3 episode 1 entitled “Girl of Steel” has been released.

Aside from Kara’s issues, it says, “Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) confesses a secret to Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) about their impending nuptials. A citizen of National City has a mysterious connection to Kara, and Lena (Katie McGrath) makes a bold move.” The source pointed out that the mentioned “citizen” is Reign (Odette Annable) and that she is saving people.

As the promotional images reveal, she will not be the threat in the first episode. We previously reported that she is going to be a normal citizen, not having any idea of what she is about to become: the main villain. Moreover, the report suggests the possibility of another villain’s entrance, Morgan Edge, which will be portrayed by Adrian Pasdar.

Alex and Maggie’s Wedding

If Season 2 did not end well for Kara, the previous season left a cliffhanger moment with Alex’s marriage proposal to Maggie. They realized how time passes by as they continue their relationship together and so they have to make the most out of it. Comic Book reported that we would see Alex (Leigh) planning her own wedding in Season 3.

While the planning is in full swing, Leigh revealed that her titular role would not be enjoying it as much. According to the 35-year-old actress, one of the most significant parts in planning the wedding is to invite the family, friends, and other people that are closest to their hearts. Unfortunately, it is impossible for her dad to be present and this issue is making her sad. “Supergirl” Season 3 airs on October 9.
