The Night King and his army of White Walkers are on their way to the north, and with Winterfell as the first line of defense, the fate of the Stark siblings is at risk. Who among Arya, Sansa, and Bran faces their imminent death in “Game of ThronesSeason 8? Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark, hints at her character's demise during Season 8.

The north must brace for the onslaught of the Night King’s undead army when Season 8 opens. When Season 7 concluded, they had breached The Wall and were on their way to Winterfell. Meanwhile, Jon Snow is also bound for the north with Daenerys and her army.

It is a race on who will make it to Winterfell first. Will Jon and company arrive in time to prevent the White Walkers' attack and save his people? Should the Night King and the White Walkers make it there first, then the kingdom is doomed.

The White Walkers march north

Winterfell only has a few men left who know how to fight. Most of them died fighting the Bolton's army in "The Battle of the Bastards." Although the men have their swords and shields prepared, they will prove useless without the proper knowledge in sword fighting. It's possible that Winterfell's survival lies in Daenerys' army. It is also worth mentioning that Arya, Sansa, and Bran are in Winterfell and among the three, Arya has the greatest chance to survive--or perhaps not.

Arya’s fate

Arya is a skilled warrior. She trained to be an assassin with the faceless men. At a young age, she also learned sword fighting from the great swordsman Syrio Forel. Suffice to say, she knows how to defend herself in order to survive. However, her skills in fighting have its disadvantage too--they could lead to her demise.

As a trained warrior and as a sister, Arya might put herself on the line to save her siblings. With her experience being out in the wild, nothing really scares her anymore, perhaps not even the White Walkers. It is likely that she risks her life to save Sansa and Bran.

Moreover, Maisie Williams seemed to hint at her character’s demise in “Game of Thrones” Season 8 in a recent interview.

She told Highs Nobiety that Arya “gets herself into trouble a few times.”

Filming for ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8

It is also interesting to point out that Maisie Williams arrived in Belfast, the production center for the series, ahead of her fellow cast members. A fan shared his photo with the actress on social media to confirm this fact. So why is she there first? Perhaps the showrunners want to get an early start with her scenes for Season 8. However, it sure makes fans wonder whether it has something to do with Arya’s demise as well.
