One of the most controversial couples on this season of "90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days" is Darcey Silva, age 42, and Jesse Meester, age 24. While their age difference is the obvious issue that most seem to focus on, the couple has a lot of issues to overcome.
In last night's episode, viewers saw Jesse Meester give Darcey Silva an ultimatum. She had to promise to never drink again or he was throwing in the towel. If she came around to his way of thinking and gave up alcohol, he said he would stay with her forever. She, of course, reluctantly nodded in agreement to his demand.
Compromise is key
Darcey has repeatedly said that Jesse is controlling and everything has to go his way. She has traveled from New Jersey to Amsterdam in hopes of finding love with a man young enough to be her son. Darcey even said on the show last night that he is still going through things that she has already done. Yet, rather than act as equal partners, the two seem to be at odds or following what Jesse wants.
"90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days" fans know the issues run deep for the couple. When Darcey first met Jesse's family, his stepfather told them that she was in a different class than Jesse. The way he said it made it very clear that Darcey was the one falling short in his eyes and he wanted a better match for his son.
The same held true when Darcey met with some of Jesse's friends. Though some don't totally understand the connection, they are supportive of Jesse and what he decides he wants for his life. As for Darcey's family, it seems that her children are supportive of their mother and whatever she decides is best for her.
Seems to be a lack of trust
The main component of the foundation for a relationship is that of trust. This is where the true problem lies for this couple. Darcey is terribly insecure, and Jesse doesn't know how to handle it. According to The Hollywood Gossip, the relationship of the two remains tumultuous at best. With posts on social media, that has since been removed, it is obvious that Darcey is still fighting insecurities.
Jesse, as always, remains supportive of her choice to leave social media due to the outburst.
Speculation is that the couple is still together. It hasn't been easy and fans don't know if the issues were resolved, but they are trying to find a way to make their relationship with the odds against them work.
