Fox has released a sneak peek for Episode 2 of “Lucifer” season 3, titled “The One With The Baby Carrot.” The trailer reveals the return of Charlotte Richards and the demon Mazikeen, better known as Maze. It also previews the new case for Chloe Decker and Lucifer Morningstar.
Maze returns
The last time we saw Maze (Lesley Ann-Brandt) in the Season 2 finale of “Lucifer” was at the hospital with Dr. Linda. She stepped out of the doctor’s room to give her time to talk to Lucifer. Beforehand, Maze had a scare when she saw the psychiatrist in her clinic bleeding and wounded, after mom Charlotte nearly burned her alive.
She then rushed Linda to the hospital while Amenadiel slowed down the time.
We did not see Maze in the premiere of “Lucifer” Season 3 since she was bounty hunting. However, showrunner and executive producer Joe Henderson previously revealed that Brandt was on maternity leave when they filmed episode 1. Regardless, Maze is in Episode 2, and from what we can see from the preview, she is still bounty hunting when she returns to Los Angeles.
Surprises await Maze
However, a couple of surprises await Maze upon her return. First, she finds out that Dr. Linda has found herself a new friend in her absence. It is unclear how long Maze was gone, but it was probably long enough for the psychiatrist to find a new confidant.
Of course, the demon does not like the fact that her only best friend has found a new pal. Second, Maze finds out that Lucifer’s wings are back. The promo shows the devil reveal his wings, much to the demon’s surprise. However, Lucifer eventually removes them again according to the synopsis for episode 2 from Flickering Myth.
This worries Linda since the devil has become fixated on finding out who the Sinnerman is.
Charlotte is back
Aside from Maze, Charlotte Richards is also back in “Lucifer” Season 3 episode 2. The circumstances that lead to her return remain unknown, although it might have something to do with Dan. The police had complained about her strange behavior in episode 1, when he told Chloe that she does not remember him.
It could be that he called her for a meeting. It is also likely that Charlotte met with Lucifer to ask him questions about what happened to her.
Episode 2 Synopsis
Elsewhere in “Lucifer” Season 3 episode 2, Chloe and Lucifer team up once again to crack a case that the devil takes a sudden interest. Meanwhile, Marcus Pierce’s past reveals that the Sinnerman is much more dangerous than everyone thought.
