Fans have been long waiting for the return of “Longmire” Season 6 but to no avail. The television show’s final bow was expected to be released in September, but it wasn’t part of Netflix’s schedule.

Now, October has come and the streaming network has yet to reveal its official premiere. So, there is a new report that the series based on Craig Johnson’s “Walt Longmire Mysteries” series is still in post-production.

The post-production process

According to CarterMatt, “Longmire” Season 6 is still under preparation for a big debut on Netflix.

The television show’s last two seasons were both released in September.

The fourth, fifth, and the final installment were also filmed at the same time. Fans are therefore expecting the new installment to be revealed in the similar month.

However, the publication noted that it might be possible that the new chapter is following a different timeline to deliver an epic final season. It is also probable that its post-production process might be longer and more complicated as its finale is different compared to the previous chapters.

Hinting the television show’s release

In Longmire Posse’s Twitter account, they revealed that Netflix is not yet giving out when “Longmire” Season 6 is going to be released.

However, the page’s holder admitted that the streaming network is giving them “goodies to release soon.” “Posse, @netflix is doing all it can to release 'Longmire' S6,” they tweeted.

Cassidy Freeman, who plays the role of Victoria Moretti, answered the fans’ query about the television show’s launch. The 37-year-old star wished that she knew when the series is going to hit the small screens, but just like the others, the cast members also have no idea when it will be released.

She even hinted that they are still making their final offer “perfect.”

Is Netflix trying to build hype?

There are assumptions that Netflix is trying to build hype for “Longmire” Season 6 as this will be the last time fans will see the series.

The television show has a cult following, so a lot of its avid fans are waiting for it. The streaming network remains 'mum' about its release and is keeping things under wraps. The previous season was released on September 23, 2016. More than a year has passed and the series’ final bow is not yet seen.

The last update viewers got to see was the first look at Robert Taylor’s character as Walt Longmire earlier this summer. After that, the show’s followers have just been clinging to its Twitter page to see any kind of new information about the program.
