Shonda Rhimes' "Grey's Anatomy" series is not new to actors eventually leaving the show. In fact, over the past years, stars like Patrick Dempsey, Sara Ramirez, T.R. Knight, Sandra Oh, and Catherine Heigl have left the show with little notice to fans but a big impact on the show. So when Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone) was discovered to have a brain tumor, all thoughts about her leaving the show somehow clouded the fans' minds.

But ABC's medical drama has had enough of its main casts leaving the show (for now), and news about Amelia's brain tumor could portray a different story.

According to the Bustle, Amelia's current situation may have something that will significantly address her current status with husband Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd). After all, they have not worked on fixing their rocky marriage since Amelia's always dodging the idea of talking about it.

Krista Vernoff on Amelia's illness

Speaking to TVLine, Grey's executive producer Krista Vernoff said: "You can look forward to the story's complexity of what it is to have a marriage in crisis and then find out there's this illness, and then potentially know that the illness caused the crisis. Does that allow you to come back from the crisis?"

Can we expect another chance for Owen and Amelia? Definitely yes. In "Grey's Anatomy Season 14," episode 3, Owen took care of Amelia the moment he knew about her illness.

While he may arrive at the tech room ready to give her wife a piece of his mind, all revenge flew out the window when he saw Amelia's brain scans on the screen. It was surreal, unnerving in the sense that while both of them were battling their emotions, a bigger issue lies beneath, potentially tragic if they don't do something about it.

Support for Amelia Shepherd

But you know who really care for you in times of crisis and Amelia's situation had everyone rallying behind her. Maggie (Kelly McCreary) broke the new to Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). Meanwhile, "Grey's Anatomy" will not be the same without the funny, steamy side of the show. Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) may have found a new love interest that she can't seem to shake off at work.

Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) is a feisty doctor that enjoys taunting Arizona after they hooked up in a bar. Carina's presence may seem to have allowed the pediatric surgeon from moving on since Eliza Minnick (Marika Dominczyk) "ghosted" on her. As for the rest of "Grey's Anatomy's" interesting love stories, make sure to tune in ABC every Thursdays at 8 pm.
