“Game of Thrones” is a different kind of epic story that attracts all kinds of people, and this even includes David Beckham. The former professional footballer has been known as such a big “GoT” fan that it even put him in hot water with his fans.
The moment that Victoria Beckham’s husband saw John Bradley West, he evidently lost himself. The A-lister went fanboying when he met the star who plays the role of Samwell Tarly in the television show based on George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” novel series.
Beckham meets West for the first time
David Beckham shared his snap alongside John Bradley West on his Instagram account.
The two were both sporting nice suits and ties and looked incredibly adorable. In fact, the 42-year-old father of four was all smiles over “Game of Thrones” Samwell Tarly. “This man is a maester, he knows things,” he said about West’s character. Beckham admitted that he was tempted to ask for some clues on what is going to happen next in “Game of Thrones” Season 8, but he was too starstruck.
The “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword” star is known for being a big fan of the HBO’s original series. In fact, this even put him in deep trouble for posting spoilers on the photo-sharing website.
This made some of his 40 million followers complain and some even took it to Twitter.
Beckham spoiled ‘GoT’ on his Instagram
David Beckham shared some unwelcomed spoilers a day before “Game of Thrones” Season 7 Episode 3 “The Queen’s Justice” aired in the U.K. The first English player to win league titles in four countries shared photos and clips to his Instagram stories along with side commentaries that angered a lot of his fans.
According to Elle UK, this wasn’t the first time that Beckham spoilt things for his followers.
In one of the snaps, Beckham shared a picture where Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) had a scene together. He even put a red emoji heart in the picture, showing that he loved the scene. There was another photograph of the Archmaester Ebrose (Jim Broadbent).
With that, a lot of his followers got angry and took their sentiments to Twitter. One fan questioned Beckham for unapologetically sharing “GoT” spoilers on his IG story. “Omg, am pure fumin,” the fan said. Another one said that she is so done with Beckham for always spoiling the epic fantasy drama. The most epic comment of them all was when one fan said he was like spoiling “GoT” once again just like he did in the 1998 World Cup.
