"Dancing With The Stars" has been very dramatic off of the ballroom floor this week. On Monday it was revealed that Maksim Chmerkovskiy would not be dancing with his partner, Vanessa Lachey, due to "personal reasons." However, insiders later revealed that those reasons were because Maks couldn't stand being with Vanessa any longer. The pair were allegedly fighting like crazy, and their personalities just simply do not mesh. However, after receiving a lot of backlash, Maks has apologized to Vanessa for ditching her.

Maks will be back on 'DWTS' next week

Maksim Chmerkovskiy says that he will be returning to "Dancing With The Stars," and that fans will see he and Vanessa dance together next week on the show. Maks, who is known for being a very strict dance partner, says he takes full responsibility for the breakdown of the partnership and is "very excited" to return to the show and dance again on Monday night. Although Chmerkovskiy didn't say what his personal issues were, or address the rumors about his rocky relationship with Vanessa Lachey, he did say that he looks forward to getting back on the ballroom floor next week.

ABC allegedly threatened to fire Chmerkovskiy

Rumors had been flying that Maks and Vanessa were at each other throats during "Dancing With The Stars" rehearsals.

Sources claimed that Vanessa wanted to be in control of nearly everything and was upsetting Maks by trying to choreograph their dances, design her own costumes, and even choose the music to which they perform to. Chmerkovskiy seemingly couldn't take the stress of the partnership any longer and decided not to dance with Lachey on Monday's episode.

Speculation was flying that ABC threatened to fire Maks from the show if he didn't return to dance with Vanessa this week, and it seems that the tactic may have worked.

Vanessa's singing a different tune

Meanwhile, Vanessa Lachey opened up about how she acts with Maksim Chmerkovskiy during "Dancing With The Stars" rehearsals.

Lachey, whose husband, Nick Lachey, is also competing on the show, and is partnered with Maks' wife, Peta Murgatroyd, says that she's "is less outspoken" during rehearsals than she is in her daily life at home with Nick. "I'm the student" she revealed, saying that Maks is her "coach," and she tries to "listen more" when she's learning from him. Tune in to 'DWTS' on Monday night to see the couple perform together for the first time since the alleged fallout.
