"Days of our Lives" fans were shocked this week after it was revealed by multiple sources that actress Marci Miller has quit the NBC soap opera. Miller took over the role of Abigail Deveraux-DiMera from fan favorite actress Kate Mansi back in 2016, and now it seems that there may be yet another casting change in the role!

Marci Miller reportedly quits 'DOOL'

According to the latest "Days Of Our Lives" news, Marci Miller is saying goodbye to Salem. Although NBC has yet to officially confirm the shocking news, it seems that all signs are pointing to the character of Abigail going through another shocking change.

Sources are revealing that Marci reportedly wants to focus more on her primetime and film career, which will leave her with little time to focus on "DOOL's" hectic schedule.

Will Kate Mansi return to the role?

Meanwhile, rumors are flying that Kate Mansi may actually be stepping back into the role. There has been no word on whether or not Kate is actually coming back to "Days of our Lives," but it wouldn't be the first time that an actor has returned after the character has been recast. Peter Reckell returned as Bo Brady after a recast, and most recently, Chandler Massey came back as Will Horton after leaving the soap, much to fans' dismay.

Will the super couple be split up?

"Days of our Lives" has made the couple of Abigail and her husband Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) a super couple over the years, and splitting them up now would be heartbreaking for die-hard fans.

If Marci Miller has officially left her role as Abby on "DOOL" then it seems that another recast would likely be in the cards. However, fans are already calling for Kate Mansi to return, and are hopeful that the NBC series can find a way to convince her to return to her former role.

Big changes ahead for Abby

As many "Days of our Lives" fans know, Abigail is currently in the middle of a huge storyline.

She has been diagnosed with a split personality disorder, and her alter egos (Gabby and Dr. Laura) are running wild inside of her body. Abby is also set to find out that she is the person responsible for killing her beloved brother-in-law, Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis), and will likely have to undergo some very serious medical treatment to deal with all of the mental health issues happening inside her body.

"Days of our Lives" fans will have to tune in to see where the soap takes the character of Abigail, and who will be playing the role going forward. The show airs weekday afternoons on NBC.
