When Barry left Iris to go into the Speed Force in the season finale of “The Flash,” we wondered about their future together. How long will Barry leave Iris alone? Will we see a wedding take place? Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says not to worry since a wedding definitely takes place in season 4. He. however, pointed out that problems resurface to test the couple’s relationship.

Kreisberg assures that Iris West (Candice Patton) and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) gets married in the new season. However, it is not “The Flash” without some drama and a few meta human enemies to spoil the happy moments.

This is what happens in Season 4 when it comes to the couple’s marriage. After the wedding, the big question, according to Kreisberg, is how long they stay as Mr. and Mrs. Barry Allen. “Can they stay married with everything that’s coming up against them?” Kreisberg tells Entertainment Weekly.

However, before they head down the altar, Barry needs to adjust to the changes around him first when he returns to Central City. After all, six months would have already passed since he left his friends and stepped into the Speed Force. When he returns home, he finds that Iris has assumed his position as the team’s leader at S.T.A.R Labs.

This is where the problem comes. Barry and Iris clash when it comes to their respective leadership style, according to Kreisberg.

Eventually, their arguments bother the people they work with, especially Dr. Caitlin Snow aka Killer Frost. She suggests that they go to couples therapy to iron out their problem. “Barry and Iris keep comically clashing inadvertently because she’s used to being in charge, and he’s used to being in charge, and so they wind up going to couples therapy to work through it,” Kreisberg tells Entertainment Weekly in a separate interview.

Kreisberg adds that Barry and Iris’ session with the therapist is part of the season’s lighter storyline. He says that it is the “funniest stuff” they have ever done on the show. The good news, the counseling works. It helps deepen Barry and Iris' relationship.

'Girl’s Night Out'

Now that Iris and Barry’s wedding is confirmed, will we see the girls celebrate ahead of the big day?

This is probably what happens in “The Flash” Season 4 Episode 5. “Co-executive producer Todd Helbing previously revealed that, in this episode titled “Girls Night Out,” Iris, Caitlin and Felicity (“Arrow”) go on a night-out in Central City without the boys. He hinted that the outing is for Iris’ bachelorette party.
