When "Superstore" season 3 returns later this month, (spoiler), Cloud 9 will be gearing up for its grand reopening. Viewers of the NBC comedy would remember that during the last season finale, a tornado hit the store, virtually damaging everything and leaving the fate of Brett in a limbo. Ahead of the show's highly anticipated return, NBC has released a first look at the third season of the Justin Spitzer-created workplace comedy that stars America Ferrera.
The first look shows the Cloud 9 crew scrambling to get the store ready for its grand reopening on the day the crew comes back from the break, a misunderstanding on Glenn's (Mark McKinney) part. This gives them roughly four hours before the store reopens its doors and the staff are all running around to get things ready. McKinney said in the exclusive sneak peek from ET Online, "Glenn shows up about the two months after the tornado, thinking it’s the first day back, but it’s actually the day they’re supposed to have the grand opening."
Amy and Jonah's relationship to be fleshed out?
When "Superstore" season 3 returns, the Cloud 9 staff might be too busy to address the elephant in the room: the kiss that Amy (America Ferrera) and Jonah (Ben Feldman) shared in the midst of the tornado.
But that doesn't mean it won't ever be addressed. Series creator Justin Spitzer admitted earlier this year that he didn't want Amy and Jonah to kiss just yet, just like "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"'s Jake and Amy or "The Office"'s Jim and Pam. Ferrera also previously expressed her opinions on Amy's relationship with Jonah, saying that she would be okay with the pair not ending up together, as Amy is a strong woman who isn't defined by her relationships with men.
Howie Mandel to guest star
In the first episode of "Superstore" season 3, "America's Got Talent" judge Howie Mandel will take a trip to Cloud 9, where Lauren Ash's character, Dina will immediately shut him down. In the first look video, Dina can be seen telling Mandel dismissively, "We're closed, you're gonna need to come back at three." When he introduces himself, she totally shrugs it off, as she doesn't even know that he is a celebrity.
Instead, she thinks he's a low-level employee, telling him, "Yeah, that's fine. Tell payroll. Vest! Tag! Produce! Go!," ordering him to get to work. This and other shenanigans are set to take place when the third season begins later this month. Check out the first look below before "Superstore" season 3 premieres on September 28 at 8/7c on NBC.
