The year 1997 churned out some of the biggest blockbuster films still deemed iconic today. Some are still as influential today, and of course with the films came some giant songs from the soundtracks. This list will take you back to a simpler time and make you feel nostalgic.

Blockbuster Movies

"Men in Black": Released July 2, 1997. The classic comedy starring Will Smith and Tommy- Lee Jones grossed $589.3 million worldwide. Becoming the year's third highest-grossing film, it was praised for its comedic storyline and witty one liners.

"Spice world": Released December 15, 1997.

This is an iconic film that is full of fun and frolic. The acting wasn't great but it became a fan favorite for the outfits, songs and girl power antics.

"Titanic": Released December 19, 1997. One of the biggest selling films of the 21st century. The film also set many teenage girls hearts a flutter with the introduction of A-lister Leonardo Dicaprio.

"Liar Liar": Released March 1997. A funny comedy with Jim Carey, Liar Liar received positive reviews from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a rating of 81 percent with movie critics calling it a Grade A film.

"Con Air": Released June 6th, 1997. Not one for audience members who have a fear of flying. The film went on to giant success grossing over $224 million against a production budget of $75 million.

Musical Nostalgia

Celine Dion's "My Heart will go on": The ballad of all power ballads, the soundtrack of "Titanic" made for a fantastic pairing. The song became Dion's biggest hit, and one of the best-selling singles of all time, and number one in every country in the world.

Spice Girls "Spice Up your life": A real girl power anthem, a fantastic karaoke classic.

The song was released and featured in their movie "Spice World".

Backstreet Boys "Everybody (Backstreet back)": The most iconic boy band of the 90's, this video was also a short feature video complete with gory special effects and makeup.

Aqua's "Barbie girl": Annoying or great? One of the most bizarre pop songs of the 90's yet went onto win the hearts of pop fans.

The song stayed in the UK charts at number one for over three weeks.

Hanson's "MMMBop": Hard to believe this little pop number is 20 years old! All the boys have gone onto becoming fathers with a total of 12 children between the three of them! Today they are still touring, with children in tow. The boys have been praised for always maintaining a wholesome image, and never went off the tracks.
