“Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi” appears to be all set to feature the Force Ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi. The highly anticipated eighth installment of the popular SW franchise is still three months away. Interestingly, numerous toys from the upcoming movie are now hitting the shelves. Despite movie director Rian Johnson’s guarantee that no spoilers would be coming from these toys, it seems that this is not the case now. It turns out, most of the latest leaks available online right now come from these toys. This includes an action figure recently released that hints at the appearance of Obi-Wan Kenobi in the upcoming film.

Fans have been wondering since “The Force Awakens” if the Force ghosts from the “Return of the Jedi” would be making an appearance. During Rey’s Force back vision, voices of Yoda and Obi-Wan were audible. In addition, the first teaser released for the upcoming movie featured the iconic character’s whispering voice along with other deceased personalities.

In a report by Business Insider, it was revealed that a new set of toys in Hasbro and Disney’s Star Wars Black Series includes a six-inch Obi-Wan Kenobi Force ghost. The toy will be available to fans starting November 2017. Fans initially assumed that it is just a confirmation of the character’s Force ghost in the “Return of the Jedi.”

However, the toy is released alongside the “Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi” characters, which also includes Snoke.

The general assumption right now is that the box with the label Obi-Wan Kenobi as Force Spirit is not making any reference to the “Return of the Jedi” but rather to “The Last Jedi.” The description of the new toy could also be a potential source of clues. The description reveals that Obi-Wan despite being dead, is still a mentor to those that are strong with the Force.

In addition, the toy is described that it is based on the Force Ghost seen in the movie franchises.

Force Ghosts

Since the news about the eighth movie installment of the popular franchise was revealed, speculations about the Force Ghosts making an appearance in the movie have been very rampant.

Among the characters heavily speculated to appear as Force ghosts include Anakin Skywalker, which will be portrayed by Hayden Christensen. There are also talks about Yoda possibly showing up in the upcoming movie as well. So if Obi-Wan would be included in the list of characters alleged to be returning in the movie, it is not really impossible given many indicators.

“Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi” will be available in the US theaters on December 15, 2017. On the other hand, fans in the UK can enjoy the movie earlier starting December 14, 2017.
