The Season 2 finale of “Lucifer” ended with the title character waking up in the desert after someone knocked him out cold. The devil found himself shirtless, parched, wounded and with his wings back. Given the state that he was in, viewers would think that he has been in the desert for several days or even months. However, he has not been there long according to co-showrunner Ildy Modrovich, who teased some spoilers for season 3.

Season 2 finale recap

Where we last left Lucifer (Tom Ellis) in Season 2, he had just stepped out from the hospital from his visit to Dr.

Linda when he decided to call Chloe (Lauren German). Something in what the doctor said about accepting Lucifer as a friend despite that he is a demon, made him decide to come clean to the detective about his identity. Lucifer left a voice message to Chloe about how he is done hiding. Lucifer was ready to tell Chloe everything and told her that he was going to drop by at her place to talk to her. Unfortunately, he was not able to do so. The moment he hung up someone hit him on the head, knocking him out cold. He woke up later to find out that he is in the desert and with no idea of who kidnapped him.

How long was Lucifer gone

The first thing that comes to the devil’s mind when he wakes up is the length of time he has been in the desert.

Showrunner Ildy Modrovich told TV Line that Lucifer thinks he has been there a long time. “He thinks he’s been gone for months, weeks, years,” she said. However, it has not been this long at all. Modrovich revealed that Lucifer has only been missing for two days.

Regardless, these couple of days are important. After all, he did tell Chloe that he was going to her place to talk to her.

Lucifer would have to explain why he did not show up when they meet. Chloe might think that he left again without a word, just like what he did in the mid-season finale of Season 2. Aside from the detective, Amenadiel, Maze and probably Dr. Linda would also be curious about his whereabouts.

What happened to Lucifer

We still do not know what happened to Lucifer and who knocked him out cold in the Season 2 finale.

This is something that the upcoming season will eventually reveal. However, the devil may already have his suspicions according to reports. He believes that a slightly depraved criminal mastermind who goes by the name of Sinnerman kidnapped him. It seems the Lord of Darkness will be seeing a lot of the Sinnerman since he is a recurring character in “Lucifer” Season 3.
