Taylor Swift released her music video "Look What You Made Me Do" at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 27. The video is loaded with hidden messages and shade about fellow musicians and Celebrities. The 27-year-old pop superstar even poked fun at herself. None of her friends, enemies, or former boyfriends were off limits when it came to Taylor's hidden messages.

The video was viewed over 43.2 million times on YouTube the first day it was posted. That's a record for the most-viewed music video within 24 hours.

Hidden messages

The video has at least 13 hidden messages that have been pointed out by critics.

In the opening scene, a tombstone is seen with Nils Sjoberg written on it as a reference to her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris' single "This Is What You Came For." She wears the blue dress she wore when she won a Grammy for her 2015 music video for "Out of the Woods."

Swift threw shade at her nemesis, Katy Perry, more than once. She crashed a gold sports car that looked very similar to the one Katy drove in her 2009 music video for "Waking Up in Vegas." She wears a short wig that made her look like Perry. Swift holds a Grammy Award reminding people that she has 10 Grammys while Perry doesn't have any.

A couple of scenes seem to be messages directed toward Kim Kardashian. A snake is seen serving the singer a cup of tea.

This seems to be a reference to the snake emojis Kim Kardashian tweeted during their feud in 2016. Swift is covered in diamonds in a bathtub in reference to Kim's robbery in Paris. A dollar bill is floating in the bathtub. That is sending a message about the symbolic $1 she received a few days ago when she won her groping case against former Denver radio DJ David Mueller.

At the end of the video, Swift poked fun at herself by appearing in outfits from previous music videos, including the silver one she wore when she was interrupted by Kanye West in 2009 during her acceptance speech.

Kimye's response

Kim Kardashian West, 36, and her husband, Kanye, 40, have spoken out by saying they are not concerned about Swift's references to them in her video.

The Wests say they are moving on with their lives after having experienced certain personal crises in their own lives.

Last year, they dealt with Kanye's hospitalization and sudden cancellation of his performances. Kim was a victim of a robbery in Paris. They are parents of two small children and expecting a third child via surrogacy.
