The "Riverdale" season 2 speculations continue to come out, with most already warned of darker tales ahead. Much of these suspense-filled suggestions have come out but it looks like the seventh episode is the one which stands to twist the storylines.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has been building the hype for a thrilling second season, hardly a surprise considering most plots were left hanging. That included the fate of Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) who jumped ship from Riverdale to Southside.

Other than that, there is also that season finale shooting at the diner which saw Fred Andrews (Luke Perry) a bloody mess.

The case of FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich) remains unresolved, made complicated by the discovery of drugs at the Blossom barn. There is apparently a lot to cover on “Riverdale” season 2.

What's the deal with 'Riverdale' S2 E7?

Most are eager to see what happens on the pilot episode of season 2 of "Riverdale." However, it looks like the key twists will go down by the seventh episode.

Titled "Tales From The Darkside" and written by James DeWille, the familiar title calls to mind a 1983 anthology series famous for its twisted endings. Further, it aligns with the suspenseful second season of the TV series since it banded together horror, sci-fi, fantasy and black comedy, Screen Rant points out.

There is no telling who among the “Riverdale” cast will be involved in this one.

However, the tweet by Aguirre-Sacasa mentions Jughead, Josie, and Betty as excluded from the plots of this episode. A speculation right now is that it may revolve around the second season’s villain, “The Sugar Man.”

Who is 'The Sugar Man'?

For the benefit of those who missed it, The Sugar Man was teased by Aguirre-Sacasa in another Twitter post.

That post showed a drawing showing Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) and Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines) with an ominous figure leering over them in another report from Screen Rant.

Seeing how the Blossoms made a living with their maple syrup business, that Sugar Man could be the person behind the drugs stashed and discovered in the barn where Clifford Blossom (Barclay Hope) died.

In what initially appeared a suicide may turn out to be an actual murder. Could this be the Sugar Man’s dirty work?

With only a couple of months before the second season of “Riverdale” kicks off, plots are getting thicker. Aguirre-Sacasa has been feeding followers leads and more are expected in the following weeks. Recently, there was that “Dark Betty” (Lili Reinhart) angle which fits in perfectly plus the much-awaited (yet controversial) debut of Hiram Lodge (Mark Consuelos).
