“Arrow” Season 6 will return in October and Marc Guggenheim teased the possible return of one character in the series. In an interview, Guggenheim revealed that Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) may be presumed dead in the show, but there will always be a place for him on The CW.

It can be recalled that Malcolm Merlyn, League of Assassin's leader, was last seen when he took the place of her daughter Thea Queen (Willa Holland) and stepped on a land mine.

There is a huge chance that he was blown into pieces in Lian Yu. However, an Arrow-fan would know that Malcolm Merlyn is more than capable of escaping a near-death situation.

Is Malcolm Merlyn alive?

According to Cinema Blend, Guggenheim says there is an open invitation for John Barrowman’s return. The death of Malcolm Merlyn was confirmed on Barrowman’s Instagram. He also disclosed how happy he was at hearing Guggenheim’s comments as well. The 50-year-old actor shared that at first, he thought that there were no future plans for his role.

“We have flashbacks, we have time travel, and we have parallel universes.

Goodbye is never goodbye. He has an open invitation to return to the show any time he wants,” says Guggenheim. In the end, he added that everything is still up to Barrowman. After all, he was informed about every detail and he was also aware of the people who will return to the series. This is obviously the chance for Barrowman to make a decision. According to his Instagram post, the show just had to ask if they want him back.

‘Arrow’ Season 6 on comebacks

The Stephen Amell-led series is known to bring back old characters that already died months or years ago in the series. As for Malcolm Merlyn, we have no idea yet what the storyline would be if he returns. Of course, we want to see his father-daughter relationship with Thea bloom again.

According to Cinema Blend, a doppelganger of Malcolm Merlyn from the Multiverse would actually work. It happened many times to Tom Cavanagh in “The Flash.” Considering Barrowman’s humor in real life, he could return as someone enjoyable in Season 6. He was playing a tough role for quite some time and creating a character that would embody his true self is definitely something viewers should watch out for. Additionally, there is still unfinished business for Merlyn. Fans will have to wait and see what the outcome might be regarding his possible return. My previous report indicates the comeback of “The Huntress,” as well and the potential theme of “Arrow” Season 6.
