“Longmire” Season 6 might be coming to an end, but it might come in another form and may be seen on the big screen. There are swirling rumors that there will be a movie version of the Western crime drama and fans are now hoping that it will happen.
It looks like Netflix has no plans to continue the television adaptation of Craig Johnson’s best-selling “Walt Longmire Mysteries” series novel. But, it looks like a film is definitely coming as Robert Taylor himself talked about it.
A hint of the movie’s coming
In a series of Facebook posts, Robert Taylor, who plays the titular role of Walt Longmire, teased that he is also interested in making a “Longmire” movie version.
The 53-year-old star just hinted that he is definitely down to make a film out of their television series. In one post, he shared a photo of himself posted by the show’s staff and captioned it with grateful words. “It was a joy to work with you and your merry gang all of these years,” he told Daniela, who bid her goodbye as the show is now ending.
He then said, “Here's to 'Longmire' movies.” that definitely made fans go berserk. Is there really a film coming? Craig Johnson himself even shared an edited photo of a Buffalo Drive-In with a sign of “Longmire the Movie” starring Robert Taylor, which the actor repost and said that it “sounds good” to him.
The continuation of the annual event
It seems like Robert Taylor is really interested in making a “Longmire” movie and his posts might just be an indication that it is about to happen.
If this is true, there is a big possibility that the television series’ entire cast and crew will be working together again to give another dynamic performance. Of course, fans will definitely celebrate if it does push through.
Chamber of Commerce’s Angela Fox told Wyoming Business Report before that there is a chance that the 'Longmire Days’ annual event would be even bigger if its story continued.
Unfortunately, there is also a likelihood that it will be smaller once it comes to an end.
She is also the first one who revealed the probability of making a film version of Craig Johnson’s original series. However, fans should only take it with a grain of salt as no one confirmed the show’s future yet. But, Fox assured that they will be helping fans who continuously give their undying support and are still looking forward to celebrating the annual event.
“Longmire” Season 6 is expected to be released later this year on Netflix.
