“Longmire” Season 6 is about to come to an end, but fans are still clamoring for more. Netflix is about to unveil the final season of the modern Western crime drama this year, but it looks like viewers are not yet ready to say goodbye to their favorite show.
With that, there are swirling rumors that the television series is going to have a movie spin-off or it might be picked-up by another network. Although this is just an assumption, this information actually comes from Chamber of Commerce’s Angela Fox.
Fans’ undying support
Angela Fox told Wyoming Business Report that the celebration of Longmire Days can be bigger if its story still continues.
“It [Longmire Days] might be smaller once the show ends,” she said (via Inquisitr). However, there is now alleged talk that the television series will be moved to another network or to streaming service. “We’ve also heard rumblings of a possible movie, too,” she added.
However, it is not yet confirmed what the future will be for the television adaptation of the “Walt Longmire Mysteries” novel series by Craig Johnson. But, if the people continuously give their support and still want to celebrate the annual event, Angela Fox assured that they will be there to help them make it possible.
As the news of the movie spin-off emerged, fans are now clamoring for its coming. As a matter of fact, the hashtag Longmire Movies was a trend on Twitter last week.
They, too, are requesting Netflix to continue the show as it still has more stories to tell and characters to explore.
The show’s expected release
Meanwhile, Netflix has yet to announce the official release of “Longmire” Season 6. However, fans are expecting to finally see it later this year possibly during this fall.
The previous seasons of the Western drama were all revealed in September, so viewers are expecting to see its final season in the same month.
But, Carter Matt reported that there is a big possibility that the show’s swan song will be unveiled at a later date.
The publication predicted that the coming new installment will be released in October. This is because the release of the show’s fifth season DVD will be at the end of September. DVD versions are often released a couple of weeks before the new season come out.
With that, people behind the television series might be doing their best to make the final season as best as it could be, especially that this will be last time they are going to see Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) and Victoria Moretti (Katee Sackhoff) on the small screen.
