On Tuesday, Jamie Foxx, a native of Texas, announced on Instagram that a telethon would reportedly be held on September 12 to raise funds for the people being affected by the tragic storm, Hurricane Harvey. Further, the Hollywood actor also revealed that he would be donating $25,000 to the GlobalGiving, a non-profit organization, which provides aid and fund to any charitable projects. A report from Entertainment Tonight shared that details for the upcoming telethon will be revealed soon.

Simultaneous telethon

According to the Hollywood actor, the upcoming telethon would be held simultaneously in places like Los Angeles, Nashville, and New York.

It has been reported that it would be aired on the different TV networks for an hour and different personalities will join the event. The upcoming event is reportedly being organized by Bun B and the team behind Ariana Grande's popular charity concert in Manchester.

The upcoming charity event is also slated to feature Reese Witherspoon and Blake Shelton as the event host in Nashville. Meanwhile, the Los Angeles telethon would be hosted by Foxx and Hilary Duff on that the same day. Such event is Foxx means of lending a hand to all the victims affected by the devastating flood. Duff, on the other hand, has also shared a photo on her Instagram and expressed how devastating the storm was.

Huge donations

Amid the tragic storm which devastated Texas, many Hollywood celebrities have shared their donations for the relief operations of the storm victims. Dwane Johnson and the Kim Kardashian family were among the stars to first lend help through their donations. Meanwhile, it was also reported that actress Sandra Bullock had donated $1 million to the American Red Cross for the Hurricane Harvey relief.

According to US Magazine, the Category 4 storm has affected numbers of household caused by massive flooding and killed almost 30 people since it made its landfall on August 25. Meanwhile, other personalities like The Rock, Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez, and Kevin Hart have also pledged to donate $25,000 in order to aid thousands of victims affected by the tragic hurricane.

The upcoming telethon is reportedly be shown in the primetime. However, the air schedule has not been announced yet. The Oscar-winning actor announced in an Instagram video that Texas got their back and they'll do the best they can to extend support to everyone who was affected by the storm.
