Time really flies so fast and "Gossip Girl," The CW's most popular series about Upper East Siders, is already celebrating its 10th year anniversary. Fans of the series have long been clamoring for a reunion or a reboot, but up until now, the fate of the said reboot is still up in the air. Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick and Penn Badgley and Chace Crawford are already celebrities in their own right, but they can't deny the fact that their careers skyrocketed because of "Gossip Girl." When it premiered in 2007, the series was likened to a breath of fresh air among the other TV series genre airing that time.
Of course, a lot of series had already followed through with that pattern, but "Gossip Girl" still holds the title of having the most fashionable and conniving characters.
Trendsetters
Leighton Meester and Blake Lively's outfits were definitely trendsetters every episode and the male characters - Chuck Bass, Nate Archibald and Dan Humphrey were only a few of the eye candy that viewers feasted on every "Gossip Girl" episode. As mentioned earlier, there is still no definite details about a "Gossip Girl" reunion or reboot. According to Entertainment Tonight, Blake Lively has expressed that she is open for a possible reunion saying that they owe so much to the show and it would only be right and fitting for them to give a tribute of some sort.
Meanwhile, Leighton Meester may not be very enthusiastic about a possible reboot but she said that if the timing is right and the other members are into it, then she might as well jump in.
Riding the nostalgia train
While there is still no definite details for the reboot, Vanity Fair has gathered the cast, creators and executive producers of "Gossip Girl" for a trip down memory lane.
During the interview, a lot of interesting details were revealed about the show.
According to Vanity Fair, Blake Lively's relationship with Leonardo DiCaprio during that time influenced the storyline of the show and brought some flair to Serena Van Der Woodsen's character. Additionally, Lively was also on an acting hiatus before she accepted her role as the fashionable Serena.
Meanwhile, Chace Crawford, who played the role of Nate Archibald, revealed that he initially didn't see how Leighton Meester could play the role of the snobby and manipulative Blair Waldorf. However, when they started filming, he admitted that he was really amazed by Meester's transformation and was impressed by her acting skills.
