While "Game of Thrones" season 7, episode 4 may have been leaked, that didn't stop plenty of people tuning in live. Nor did it stop people from raving about the episode on Twitter. It made up for a slightly anticlimactic episode a week earlier, especially with the battle at the end. However, there was one moment between Bran and Littlefinger that meant far more than it initially would seem.

A connection back to 'Game of Thrones' season 3

Littlefinger, aka petyr baelish, gave Bran a very specific Valyrian steel blade. It was the same dagger that the hired gun had used in his attempt to kill Bran way back in Season 1.

That isn't the focus. At the end of the scene, Bran tells Littlefinger that "chaos is a ladder." For those with a good memory, you'll know that those were the exact words spoken by Baelish back in Season 3 of the series.

There is only one person who knows about those words (or at least, should know). Littlefinger spoke them to Varys, shortly after Sansa's marriage to the Tyrells was quashed. It was during a larger speech in which Littlefinger made it very clear to Varys that he was after the illustrious Iron Throne.

What did the words really mean?

Without going into the meaning of the speech in Season 3, the words that Bran spoke made one thing very clear to Littlefinger: he knows everything that Littlefinger has ever said and done throughout his life.

That means Bran knows about Littlefinger's part in Sansa's two marriages, Ned's downfall, and Lyssa's death. Bran has made it clear that he doesn't trust Littlefinger at all and he will make sure his siblings don't either.

This could be an extremely dangerous position for Bran. After all, Baelish could attempt to take Bran out in an attempt to keep his game for the Iron Throne in play.

Of course, Baelish doesn't really know if Bran can see the future; just that he can see everything that has come. Littlefinger may want to take his time to figure out just how much Bran knows and can do now as the Three-Eyed Raven.

There are more important things to deal with

The trailer for "Game of Thrones" season 7, episode 5 makes it clear that there is far more to deal with right now.

Jon shares that Bran had a vision of the Night King marching to Eastwatch-by-the-Sea. Everyone will be far more focused on that than anything that Littlefinger is doing.

Bran's words certainly meant more to Littlefinger than just a comment about chaos. They made it clear Bran sees all.
