"Teen Mom 2" star Jenelle Evans is no stranger to drama, and one of the newest sources of it comes predictably from her social media. The reality TV star was blasted when her fiance posted a photo of her on Snapchat holding their daughter, Ensley, six months, with a mixed drink on the table in the background. Normally, this wouldn't be that big of a deal for most people, and wouldn't be a problem for the "Teen Mom" fandom either. But Jenelle Evans recently tried to make it seem as though her mother, Barbara, was drinking and driving while her child, Jace, and two other children were in her care.
Jenelle's bid to get custody of Jace
Jenelle and her mother, Barbara, have had a strained relationship ever since she took full custodianship of Jenelle's eldest son, Jace. In May of this year, the pair went to court to iron out their custody arrangement, and Jenelle was hoping that this time she would finally "get Jace back," despite the fact that Barbara has been his primary caregiver for the majority of his life. In a last-ditch effort to make Barbara look bad in the eyes of the court, Jenelle intruded on a lunch her mother was having including Jenelle's son and two other children.
During the intrusion, Jenelle Evans burst in on her mother with her cell phone recording her, telling her mother that she was "driving drunk with three kids." Jenelle told her mother that she needed to take a taxi home and the fact that she was drinking wine at dinner with her friends and children was incredibly unsafe.
According to Barbara, she knew Jenelle was trying to set her up.
"I knew Jenelle was trying to set me up. She called me at 4:30 pm saying she wanted to see Jace. No. It doesn’t work like that. You can’t just call me like that," she told The Hollywood Gossip.
Is drinking with her baby hypocritical?
Fans who saw the entire ordeal between Jenelle and her mother are labeling her a hypocrite for allowing herself to drink even a mixed drink while Ensley is in her care.
Jenelle, however, did not specify in the Snapchat whether or not she was driving a vehicle, which seemed to be the crux of her argument with Barbara. Others were quick to point at that since Jenelle is a recovering addict, she has no business drinking anyway, with or without her children.
It should be noted that Jenelle is no longer breast feeding Ensley due to the fact that she has suffered from painful clogged ducts. Therefore, aside from her previous substance abuse issues, it is not necessarily wrong for her to be drinking.
