When ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" Season 25 premieres on September 18, expect to see a Married Couple compete against each other with their pro partners, who are also married to each other. This should be a treat for viewers of the popular dance competition show. This will be only the second time in the show's history that a married couple has been on the show as competitors.

The Lacheys

At one time, Nick Lachey had been adamant about not being a contestant on "Dancing With The Stars." He has changed his mind and not only will Nick be a contestant, but his wife, Vanessa has also signed up to compete. This should be very interesting.

They love competing against each other and have competed on other shows such as "Battle of the Network Stars" and "Hollywood Game Night." Nick has been a musical guest on "Dancing with the Stars," but he never expected to become a contestant. He once said he is not a dancer and he doesn't even like to dance. He said he leaves the dancing up to his younger brother, Drew Lachey, who competed on Season 2 in 2006 and won with partner Cheryl Burke.

Nick, 43, and Vanessa, 36, have been married since July 15, 2011. They have three children that include a five-year-old son, Camden, a two-year-old daughter, Brooklyn, and a nine-month-old son, Phoenix. Needless to say, the parents are going to have their hands full with their young kids and dancing. Besides, Nick is also rehearsing for the return of his singing group 98 Degrees. The band which includes his brother, Drew, will release a new holiday record and tour in the coming months.

The Lacheys aren't the only married couple to compete on the show. Back during Season 21, Carlos and Alexa PenaVega competed. Carlos was partnered with Witney Carson, and Alexa was partnered with Mark Ballas. Neither one of them won that season, but Carlos did go one week longer than his wife.

She was the seventh contestant to be eliminated, and he was eliminated one week before the semi-finals. Perhaps the Laceys will do just as well or even better. One thing that is for sure is that they will have partners who will be working hard, since they will be competing against each other as well.

Their partners

Series regular pro dancers newlyweds Peta Murgatroyd and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are expected to be partnered with the Lacheys. Peta and Maks were married on July 8, 2017. They have a son, Shai, who was born on January 4, 2017.

Peta, 31, has been dancing on the ABC show since 2011. She has won twice, once with Donald Driver and once with Nyle DiMarco, a deaf model. Maks, 37, has been dancing for 17 seasons and won the Mirrorball trophy with Meryl Davis.
