"Big Brother 19" fans have been waiting for the Power of Veto competition to take place. With Josh as the Head of Household, it has been an interesting couple of days, to say the least. Let's take a moment to catch up with all of the activity going on with your favorite houseguest.
The following will contain spoilers for "Big Brother 19." If you do not want to know what may make the editorial cut, stop reading now.
Josh made it clear to Christmas that Elena was his number one target for the week. He wanted to nominate Jessica and Cody for eviction but keep Elena as a replacement nominee. He originally said he didn't want Paul to know about the plan but eventually. they discussed it. Paul tried hard to get Josh back to his original plan but it didn't work.
When it came time to make a decision on whether or not to compete for safety for the week, Jody had a plan. They decided that one would win it and the other would throw it. Cody was the winner and got safety for the week and Jessica threw the competition and took the seat as the third nominee for eviction from the "Big Brother 19" house.
This made it easy for Josh to target Elena and took his shot. Mark and Elena were nominated for eviction.
The final power is used
At the Power of Veto meeting to pick players, Josh, Jessica, Mark, and Elena were joined up front by Cody and Alex. Christmas wanted to make sure that the biggest threat to take Jessica off of the block was out of the competition. She used her Ring of Replacement to replace Cody with herself in the competition.
"Joker's Updates" reported a sad moment between Cody and Jessica after the conclusion of the meeting. Cody turned his cap around and lowered the brim to hide his tears from the camera. As Jessica told him that she was proud of them and what they had accomplished in the game, he agreed.
Cody was wiping tears, knowing that Jessica is the biggest target currently on the block.
Mark won the Power of Veto and the activity in the HOH bedroom began. Josh, Paul, and Christmas all know that Mark using the veto would require a replacement nominee. That would mean giving up a vote to evict Jessica, one of their own, for Mark's vote, a vote to save her. They plan to discuss with him the possibility to show his loyalty to them, rather than Cody, by leaving nominations the same.
Remember Marcellas? Mark does.
When Mark and Josh had that conversation, Mark must have been thinking about the "Big Brother" ghost of Marcellas Reynolds, the long ago houseguest that didn't use the POV and was evicted. He told Josh that he is playing the game and is going to use it. Mark feels that him winning an HOH and targeting Cody would be a better way to show where his loyalties lie.
