Jessica Jones and Luke Cage will finally team up with Daredevil and Iron Fist this August, but it looks like another Marvel character is crashing the big fight in "The Defenders." A new international promo for the highly anticipated Netflix series has teased on the possibility that The Punisher will be back to save Hell's Kitchen.
Jon Bernthal is not the only big name that featured in the teaser for "The Defenders." Marvel icon Stan Lee makes a rare appearance in the promo, serving as a narrator as New York's unlikely heroes take a stand against their mysterious enemies.
'The greatest stories ever told'
The Netflix Korea teaser opens with Stan Lee riding a taxi and stating that these are "the greatest stories ever told." There are sweeping shots of Daredevil diving from building to save a falling woman. Jessica Jones is also seen defending a mugging victim on the street.
The international promo features mostly old footage from the other Marvel shows. However, there is a new look at all four heroes engaged in yet another hallway fight. Interestingly, there is no sign of the resurrected Elektra Natchios although Black Sky was a huge part of the first trailer for "The Defenders."
The Punisher is back in Hell's Kitchen
The ad is brief at only a minute long, but it ends with a surprising twist for Marvel fans.
The promo concludes with The Punisher striding out of the darkness wearing his trademark skull logo. "Looks like I got here just in time," he says as he lowers his weapon.

Fans have been speculating on Frank Castle returning in "The Defenders" to help Daredevil and his new friends.
Unfortunately, all hints seem to suggest that Jon Bernthal will be focusing on "The Punisher" spinoff series. Hopefully, his short appearance in the Netflix Korea promo confirms that Frank will have a brief cameo in the Marvel series.
Is The Punisher a villain in 'The Defenders'?
It has already been established that the major villain in "The Defenders" will be played by Sigourney Weaver.
Not much is known about the character Alexandra, but some believe she might have a secret connection to Danny Rand, as per io9. Is there any possibility that Alexandra has something to do with the death of Danny's parents all those years ago? The truth may be unveiled this August.
Will The Punisher help Daredevil and his friends defeat Alexandra? Could Frank Castle possibly be working with The Hand? "The Defenders" premieres on Netflix on August 18.
