The Gallagher family has officially taken over. The series was always a huge success. However, since Netflix began streaming the popular Showtime comedy drama, the viewing numbers are through the roof. Millions of "Shameless" fans are anxiously awaiting the return of the Gallagher family. Fans just can't seem to get enough of America's beloved dysfunctional family.
Below are a few potential spoilers for the upcoming season eight. So if you are not up to speed on seasons one through seven, you may want to turn back now.
How hard is Frank taking Monica's death?
One big question fans have been asking is what Frank Gallagher may be up to in "Shameless" season eight? When fans last saw Frank at the end of season seven, he was in mourning. He had just lost the love of his life and his children's mother Monica.
How did the Gallaghers use their inheritance from Monica?
You have to wonder if Frank may also be feeling some guilt when it comes to her death. The two were doing some hard partying before she died that alone could have killed her. However, we know that Monica's days were numbered due to an inoperable brain tumor, but was Frank responsible for her dying sooner? After all, he did punch a woman with a brain tumor in the face.
Will Monica's death change Frank's outlook on his life?
Frank and Carl were seen in the final season seven scene painting a graffiti tribute to Monica. Now we are well aware that a time jump is most likely going to take place between season seven and season eight.
As previously reported, the actors who has been playing Liam Gallagher, (Brenden and Brandon Sims) are not returning to the series.
Instead, a new and older actor has taken over the role. Steve Howey, who plays Kev, confirmed the news by sharing a photo of the cast members including a much older Liam. Now, back to Frank.
The Gallagher family patriarch does not fare well on his own. He is always scheming to find an easy way to get through life, and that means finding a woman to take care of him.
Since Liam is going to a new, expensive private school and rubbing elbows with some very wealthy classmates, it could be that Frank is going to use this opportunity to meet a new love interest.
After all, the money Frank may have made selling off his share of the meth that Monica had left as an inheritance for her family can't last forever. One other thought, does Fiona ever tell Frank she put her and Liam's meth bags in Monica's casket? If she does, could this lead a desperate Frank attempting to get access to the meth?
Stranger things have happened. Are fans going to see Frank lose it like he did when Bianca died? Those visits to the cemetery were just too bizarre and hilarious at the same time.
If Frank is on the prowl for a new woman in his life, one that can take satisfy him financially, of course, what better place to meet the next one than at Liam's school?
When is the new season?
As previously reported, there have been no details released as to when fans can expect the new season of "Shameless" to begin airing. Previous seasons have all aired in January except season seven which debuted in October.
An October release date is what fans are hoping for, but since the cast is still currently filming, it makes us believe we may have to wait until 2018 to be reunited with the Gallagher family once again.
