The title characters end up in a post-apocalyptic world in “Rick and Mortyseason 3 Episode 2, titled “Rickmancing the Stone.” Adult Swim has released a sneak peek at the episode, which is a homage to George Miller's "Mad Max."

Mad Max theme

Episode 2 has elements and theme of George Miller’s “Mad Max” in it. The post-apocalyptic backdrop and the cars are reminiscent of the blockbuster Hollywood film, which stars Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy. The preview shows Morty and Rick, along with Summer on a run from the Mohawk guys. The scientist is at the wheel with Summer on the passenger’s seat, while his grandson tries his best to shoot at their pursuers.

YouTube user Emergency Awesome also posted a clip that shows another scene for “Rickmancing the Stone.” The scene shows the scientist escape his pursuers by opening a portal to his garage back on Earth. One of his pursuers is sucked into the portal and meets his demise.

Likewise, another scene shows Jerry get off Rick’s ship to an alien planet. Fans may remember that the scientist despises his son-in-law, (he planned Jerry's divorce with Beth), so it is interesting to find out why they are together in this scene.

Jerry’s presence in Episode 2 confirms what creator Dan Harmon said about the character’s involvement in the show. He told Time that Jerry is a “huge part” of “Rick and Morty” Season 3.

He is not going anywhere, despite his divorce from Beth.

Heavy Episode

“Rick and Morty” Season 3 Episode 2 is a heavy episode. Not only is the theme of death and violence extreme, but the number of the characters in the episode is also immense. There are several characters in a single scene, like the shot of the thunder dome, which has 80 characters.

The costume and vehicle designs of the characters in the episode are also amazing and in keeping with the characters’ outfits in “Mad Max.”

Pickle Rick appears in ”Rick and Morty” Season 3 Episode 2

It seems Pickle Rick appears in “Rickmancing the Stone” too, looking at the trailer below. The scientist supposedly turns himself into the vegetable to cheer everyone in the household after Jerry left.

He especially wants to make Morty smile.

In Episode 2, Pickle Rick ends up in the sewer and tries to stay alive amid the threat of rats. He builds himself a suit and armor (complete with arms and legs) so he can fight the rats. Adult Swim released the animation below to show Pick Rick’s adventures during last year’s San Diego Comic-Con.
