Films that are set to be released within a year from now should wrap up filming right about now and that includes the highly anticipated "Jurassic World 2," subtitled "Fallen Kingdom." Colin Trevorrow, who directed the 2015 blockbuster hit "Jurassic World" returned to write the script with Derek Connolly, this time handing over the directorial reins to J. A. Bayona ("A Monster Calls").
The upcoming sequel to the 2015 billion-dollar selling film is set to be more horrifying and completely darker than its predecessor, which captured the hearts and minds of moviegoers with its refreshing take on the original "Jurassic Park." The 2015 film further proved Chris Pratt's leading actor capabilities following the 2014 Marvel hit, "Guardians of the Galaxy," which also saw a sequel come out this year. Pratt, together with Bryce Dallas Howard, are set to reprise their roles as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing, respectively.
Claire Dearing has officially ditched the heels
One of the most noticeable and meme-able things about "Jurassic World" was the fact that Bryce Dallas Howard survived running from dinosaurs in heels.
In "Jurassic World 2," subtitled "Fallen Kingdom," Claire Dearing has ditched the heels for more appropriate footwear which is great for running away from deadly dinosaurs. In photos published by Just Jared, Howard and Pratt were seen filming a scene in Hawaii, where they were washed ashore. In it, Howard was wearing a tank top with a jacket, sensible pants, and a pair of boots.
'Fallen Kingdom' has wrapped filming
The J.A. Bayona-directed "Jurassic World 2" or "Fallen Kingdom" has officially concluded filming after production took the actors and actresses to locations in London and Hawaii. Bayona took to Twitter to celebrate the occasion, sharing a gif of Chris Pratt dancing during an outtake in "Jurassic World." According to Screen Rant, Jeff Goldblum did return to reprise his role as Dr. Malcolm and shot his scenes in May.
First trailer arriving during SDCC
One of the most exciting events of the year is happening this July, with the San Diego Comic Con hosting several big-franchise events. Some reports have surfaced that the first trailer for "Jurassic World 2"/"Fallen Kingdom" may be shown during the highly anticipated event. Given that they have just concluded filming the movie, they might have enough time to whip up some teaser footage for the SDCC, which is set to take place between July 20 and 23.
