'Jersey Shore' reunion: cast return to New Jersey, begins official filming

The "Jersey Shore" cast is back. It has been years since the last episode of "Jersey Shore" aired, and the reality show is returning for a reunion show. The reality show first aired in 2009, with the tagline: "gym, tan and laundry" or "GTL." The reality show followed the tumultuous friendships and relationships of young adults in New Jersey - and there was a lot of drama in almost every episode.

Now that "Jersey Shore" reunion has already begun filming, fans of the reality series are excited to see what new drama and adventures the returning show has to offer. According to Hollywood Life, reliable eyewitnesses spotted the cast filming at Point Pleasant Beach on June 16.

Favorite 'Jersey Shore' alums spotted

The reunion of the cast at Point Pleasant Beach was reportedly a legit filming session, as sources revealed that there were a bunch of camera crew seen on the location. Some of the "Jersey Shores" stars that were identified on the beach include Jenni "JWoww" Farley, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino.

Sorrentino himself confirmed his participation in the "Jersey Shore" reunion as he took to Instagram to tease his fans about the upcoming comeback. He captioned his Instagram story "We have a Situation," clearly putting an emphasis on his nickname from the reality show.

Controversy brewing - cast denied access to shoot at some locations?

According to Hollywood Life, Toby Wolf, the director of marketing for Jenkinson's Boardwalk, spilled some juicy information about the chosen locations for the reunion filming. According to Wolf, the cast and crew were initially denied permission to film at Langcosta Lounge in Ashbury Park.

According to reports, the restaurant's entertainment director, Peter Mantas, declined their request because it would be bad publicity for their establishment.

The same thing also reportedly happened when the cast and crew tried to film at Seaside Heights. It looks like the "Jersey Shore" gang is still notorious for their mishaps and controversy, right?

According to E! Online, Snooki shared in an interview last year that she is open for a reunion show only if it won't entail long filming hours because now that she has a family of her own, things are obviously not like before. As of writing, the air date for the "Jersey Shore" reunion remains to be announced. The format is also still unclear and MTV has previously denied that it is the one behind the reunion production.
