Justin Bieber may have canceled his last 14 show dates on his Purpose World Tour, but according to TMZ, the star will be back in the near future. The site reported on Wednesday that Bieber's break from music was due to a new-found "spiritual awakening." The star has been heavily involved with the "Hillsong Church" in Manhattan for some years and reportedly has a strong relationship with one of the church's lead pastors, Carl Lentz.

According to TMZ's report, Lentz's relationship with Beiber influenced his decision to cancel the remainder of his tour, but the pastor was said to be in favor of the singer finishing it. A source stressed to the publication that the star made his own decision regarding his Purpose World Tour cancellation and that he was walking his own spiritual path.

Fans left disappointed after Bieber cancels rest of Purpose World Tour

Beliebers around the world were left shocked and disappointed when it was confirmed the remainder of shows were to be canceled. The announcement was made on July 24, on the star's Facebook page.

The singer had already performed 150 shows during the tour.

The representative's statement revealed that Bieber was canceling the remainder of the concert dates because of "unforeseen circumstances." However, TMZ reported two days later that the star’s connection to the "Hillsong Church" and a soul-searching expedition were the reasons behind the cancellation. The remainder of Bieber's shows were due to take place in North America and Asia over the next four months. The tickets will be refunded.

Bieber to return to music at a later date

TMZ reports that Bieber is not giving up on his music career just yet. According to the site, sources revealed that after several conversations with the singer, it is clear his faith will not come in the way of his job.

The star has not confirmed a date for his return or recorded anything since canceling the remainder of his tour. However, it has been reported that he does plan on returning to music when the time is right. It has also been reported that he will continue to tour as part of his career.

Bieber has been touring for nearly two years straight, so it's not inconceivable that the star needs a bit of a break. The star received support on Twitter from singer John Mayer, who praised his decision to take some time out. Bieber's album "Purpose" was released in November 2015 and the tour began in early 2016. According to the New York Times, the tour has grossed a massive $256.5 million in total since it began.
