South Korea’s BTS KPop boy band has been soaring high in the music industry since it debuted in June 2013. The boys have earned an international recognition for their music, gaining several awards including "New Artist of the Year" when they debuted. The band has also charted at number one on Billboard several times throughout their career. Recently, the Bangtan Boys changed their brand identity from Bulletproof Boy Scouts to Beyond The Scene, which leaves fans mixed reactions.

Now, following the name change, the band is back to being number one again on Billboard’ Social 50 Chart.

Bangtan Boys’ Billboard success

BTS KPop boy band, now known as Beyond The Scene in English translation, has reclaimed its top spot on the said chart for its 30th week. The Billboard Social 50 is powered and sponsored by Next Big Sound, a music analytics company, which ranks the artists that are most popular on social media such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Wikipedia, Tumblr and YouTube. The most recent tracking week of the chart has been completed on June 29, which puts back the infamous KPop boy group on the number one spot.

The tracking week records the social media boosts such as Twitter mentions and reactions, Instagram followers and reactions, which includes a 57 percent jump of followers on Instagram. Sounds like the boys are having a good time!

Highest Ranking Overseas Artist in Japan

It appears that the success of BTS KPop boy band is unstoppable. Oricon in Japan, the biggest music statistics-tracking company has released the overall rankings of the “highest estimated total sales for singles and albums in the first half of 2017.” The group’s track, "Blood Sweat & Tears" from the album ‘Wings’ that was released in 2016 has been the number one hit in South Korea. Soompi reports that the song’s Japanese version tops on the Singles Chart at number 11 with total sales of roughly 260k as ranked by Oricon.

The boy group is the sole KPop artist that made it to the top 25 list in Japan for the highest ranking singles for 2017’s first half.

Beyond The Scene

A few days ago, fans noticed that the logo of BTS KPop boy band was changed, prompting fans that the group has also changed its name. Its seven members Suga, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Rap Monster, and Jungkook are widely popular throughout the world. The band was formed and managed by Big Hit Entertainment, which continues to gain an overwhelming fanbase internationally. Great job, South Korea!
