"Rick and Morty" is an adult-orientated animated series co-created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland. The series is extremely popular and has developed a massive cult following. The show follows the adventures of mad scientist Rick and his easily influenced grandson Morty. The idea for the series was developed from a parody of "Back to the Future" created by Roiland for a film festival.
Rumors of a feud between creators
Rumors of a feud between creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland were circling the internet and fans were devastated that "Rick and Morty" may be in danger of being canceled.
However, Dan Harmon has since released a statement addressing the rumors. He insists that the rumors are simply that. It appears that fans awaiting the release of the third season assumed a feud between the creators was the reason why the highly anticipated season had not yet been released.
Fans freaked out over seeing a tweet in which Harmon blamed Roiland for the third season being delayed. According to Hall of Fame, Harmon also tweeted about the fights he was having with Roiland. However, Dan Harmon has recently addressed the confusion surrounding these tweets. The co-creator explained that he was only joking with Roiland on Twitter. In reference to the "fights", he merely meant arguments in the writer's room.
He went on to clarify that he has never had a fight with Roiland on the set of "Rick and Morty".
Why is season 3 of 'Rick and Morty' delayed?
Harmon did not comment too much on the season 3 delay. He merely stated that Adult Swim was ultimately in charge. However, since Adult Swim has not released comment fans still believe there is an on-going feud between the co-creators.
The third season of "Rick and Morty" will have 14 episodes in total, with 13 new episodes to come.
Fans have discovered that episode 2 of season 3 is titled, "Rickmancing The Stone" and many assume that the episode is already finished. However, there have been further rumors that the series has been canceled and nothing can seem to sway fans opinions.
Hopefully, Adult Swim is delaying the season 3 release in order to build both hype and speculation about the series. Season 3 is supposed to be airing sometime this summer but fans are taking this information with a reluctant wariness.
"Rick and Morty" season 3 was originally expected to be released in 2016. Adult Swim released the first episode of season 3 on April 1, 2017, as part of the company's April Fools Prank. Fans are desperate to watch the third season but as of yet, there has been no official release date.
