Rihanna responded with a comic banter to body shamers who have been continuously saying she had gained weight and looked like wearing a sumo suit after being photographed in an over-sized clothing. In an article published a week ago, a write-up with the title “Is Rihanna going to make being fat the hot new trend” had become one of the most-talked about over the internet.

Brilliant meme for fat-shamers

The famous Barbadian singer clapped back against the fat-shamers and posted a photo on her Instagram account featuring rap artist Gucci Mane and a crying emoji. The post shows before and after picture of the rap star, who is also famous for losing a lot of weight and revealing his new body look last year. The meme reads saying, “If you can’t handle me at my 2007 Gucci Mane you don’t deserve me at my 2017 Gucci Mane.”

Rihanna showed how to flawlessly throw some shade back to her haters and displayed her Sense Of Humor about the negative comment on her body weight. Her Instagram post earned more than 600,000 likes.

However, fans noticed that Rihanna used a crying emoji to caption her latest meme which could mean she may also feel bad about the article written fat-shaming her. Fans quickly flocked to the comment section writing encouragement messages to Rihanna. Some people also pointed out that happiness is still the important thing and her current weight does not really matter to her fans at all.

Backlash against fat-shaming article’s publication

It has been known that Barstool Sports released the article body shaming the 29-year-old. The said published article received a lot of negative comments and attention from different social sites, especially that it contained harsh criticisms regarding Rihanna’s new weight.

The article contained the writer’s rant over Rihanna’s new figure, calling the famous pop singer “fat” and “wearing sumo suit.”

Aside from the fans who were ultimately angered over the article, high-profile publications like Allure and Cosmopolitan also debunked the said article. Allure’s Twitter account stated that the use of body-shaming and misogynic comments to earn social engagement is “pathetic.”

Rihanna was not the only celebrity to be body-shamed. Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, Tyra Banks, Emma Stone, Amy Schumer, Lady Gaga, Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lawrence, Alyssa Milano, Kate Winslet, Khloe Kardashian, Kelly Clarkson, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Amber Rose and a lot more. These women also fought back against their haters, proving that happiness does not depend on your weight.
