Production on the fourth season of "Bachelor in Paradise" has been halted, and the entire cast has been sent home from Mexico. Warner Bros. confirmed the news and said that the production company is aware of misconduct allegations that have prompted a thorough investigation. The company promised that appropriate action will be taken. Filming of the reality show has been suspended for the time being.
At first, there wasn't much information available as far as the reason why the reality show suspended production. Recently, it has been reported that the allegation involves Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson. According to TMZ, the two contestants -- who were previously on "The Bachelor" and the "Bachelorette" -- were drinking before they ended up in the swimming pool together. Witnesses say they were seen engaging in sexual activity. Producers had more to go on after they viewed the footage. Olympios and Jackson were suspended immediately and sent home. Then, the decision was made to send the entire cast home.
Past behavior
Corinne was a contestant on the last season of "The Bachelor" with Nick Viall. She was known for taking risks on the show. For example, she took her top off while on a group date. Despite her behavior, she did make it to the semi-finals.
DeMario was booted from this season's "The Bachelorette" that is still in progress. His girlfriend showed up and Rachel Lindsay told him to leave the show. He did, but he returned during the next episode. He asked Rachel to give him another chance. She banished him from the show again.
Corinne and DeMario's story
The production company has not commented on their investigation, but others have weighed in on what they saw. One of the producers said that after looking at the footage, it looked like Corinne was sexually assaulted.
DeMario said what happened was consensual. In fact, he claimed that Corinne was the one who instigated it. Others seemed to back up DeMario's story by saying that Corinne walked up to the bar and started kissing DeMario. They both were naked in the pool. Corinne reportedly said she was "out of it" and doesn't remember what happened. Those around her said that's not the way it appeared.
Will 'Bachelor in Paradise' still air?
The ongoing investigation will provide more information regarding what happened in Mexico, and what Warner Bros. will do about the unfinished fourth season of the popular ABC show. As of now, no one knows if "Bachelor in Paradise" will air as previously scheduled on August 8. Fans will just have to wait and see.
