The wait for the final episode of “Supergirl” season 2 is just a few hours away. Fans are given a sneak peek at what they are about to see in the upcoming Season Finale with the recently released synopsis. Aside from that, the show's star, Melissa Benoist hinted that fan will be up to an episode of an emotional whirlwind.
Synopsis
The upcoming episode is titled, “Nevertheless, She Persisted, ” and it reveals that Supergirl dares Queen Rhea portrayed by Teri Hatcher to a fight in order to save the National City from the Daxamites. Superman portrayed by Tyler Hoechlin is back while Cat Grant will give Kara the necessary morale boost that she needs in her battle against Rhea.
As disclosed by Spoiler TV, General Zod is also preparing to go to the National City. At this point, it is still uncertain if Zod's presence will be substantial in the season finale or if he is a bait for the next season of the series.
A possible goodbye?
Melissa Benoist only said this few details without revealing the essentials on what could be expected for the next episode. Obviously, it was just meant to tease the fans to get them excited for the season 2 finale of the TV series. The actress apologizes in advance to the fans about what they will see as the second season comes to an end. Kara revealed that the final episode would be really big and it will be a roller coaster of emotions.
Her statement somehow lead fans to conclude that something not good will happen to her superhero character in the upcoming episode.
This fear is not just a baseless one but founded on a more deep connection. It can be recalled that in 1985 series titled “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” her superhero character was killed.
While this theory is plausible, unfortunately, the popular TV series will have a third season. It is not possible for the show to run without the main character in action.
For now, we can only speculate about that. Meanwhile, series' producer Andrew Kreisberg shared in one interview that the production has spent a substantial amount for the upcoming season ender episode. He added that this episode would not bore the viewers aside from saying that it will be massive in scale.
