Ever since Netflix introduced “Making a Murderer” to its audience, viewers’ attention was easily caught by its different theme than what people are used to watching. More than a year since its entire 10 episodes were dropped, fans were still waiting for the coming of “Making a Murderer” Season 2.
Although details of the second chapter of the documentary television series remains under wraps, it has been said that it is now in production and will be out this coming summer.
And even though its expected release is still a few months from now, the show’s followers are now excited to see how Steven Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey’s stories will unfold.
A well concealed second chapter
Netflix VP of original content Cindy Holland told USA Today that fans are about to see new episodes coming for “Making a Murderer” Season 2 sometime this year as its story is still ongoing. However, she cleared that she, along with the people behind the show, are not yet sure when the new chapters will definitely come.
The television series’ directors Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos are now filming in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
They are regularly working on the story that they are going to feature next. Hence, one of the streaming service’s bosses admitted that they are depending on these two filmmakers to dictate when the second installment will be ready.
Holland also confessed that there are very few people inside Netflix that actually know what is going on in the show’s second chapter. She said that this is the measure that they have to take to keep things about it top secret. Also, knowing that Avery and Dassey’s cases are still ongoing, they have to be sensitive enough not to spill the beans.
The continuation of Avery and Dassey’s cases
Moreover, “Making a Murderer” Season 2 is believed to focusing on the post-conviction process of the alleged two offenders.
It has been known that Dassey was ordered to be released from prison in August 2016. Avery, on the other hand, enlisted the services of attorney Kathleen Zellner to file an appeal.
With the overflowing support the show continuously receives, the filmmakers Ricciardi and Demos said in a statement that they are both grateful for the response they are getting. With the interest the people are showing, they assured that the show will not yet be over. In fact, they promised that they will be fully committed to covering the story as it develops.
There are a lot of people keeping an eye on the cases of Avery and Dassey in the murder of Teresa Halbach, a local photographer.
