LeBron James saw how incredible isaiah thomas was, as he scored 53 points in his last game against the Washington Wizards. Thomas, who turned into one of the best NBA players this season, led his Boston Celtics to the sixth straight playoff win, after a historic performance. Everyone was simply amazed by Isaiah's performance, and LeBron is no exception, as he commented about the point guard and his best career game.
"I think he's very special. Special guy. Special talent. Unique talent. And with yesterday being his sister's birthday, I believe that she was just looking down on him and giving him everything and more," the four-time MVP commented about the Celtics guard. Isaiah Thomas was incredible in the clutch period as well, scoring 29 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, which makes his performance even more astonishing.
Isaiah Thomas had a record-breaking game
Despite being only 5-foot-9 tall, Thomas is one of the best scorers in the league and he proved it in the last game once again. The point guard finished regular season averaging 28.9 points per game, which was good enough for the third spot on the scoring list.
In his last game, Isaiah Thomas scored 53 points on 54.5 percent shooting, which is incredibly efficient. No other player has scored 53 points in well over a decade, since Allen Iverson' 55-point game in 2003.
Furthermore, Thomas was only one point shy of tying Boston Celtics franchise record in playoff scoring. The record is held by John Havlicek, but considering how amazing Thomas is, there is no doubt that he could break it soon.
This big game came on what would be Isaiah Thomas' sister's 23rd birthday. His sister, Chyna, died in a car accident on April 15, and Isaiah dedicated this amazing performance to her.
LeBron and Thomas will most likely face off this year
LeBron James and his Cleveland Cavaliers took a 2-0 lead over the Toronto Raptors tonight, and the Celtics have a 2-0 lead over the Washington Wizards.
Both teams are favored to win the series and if they do, they will meet in the eastern conference finals.
Last time these two teams met was in the first round of 2015, when the Cavaliers swept the Boston Celtics. Even thought he Celtics had Isaiah Thomas on that roster, he wasn't as good as he is no, and there is no doubt that the Celtics are the biggest threat to the Cavaliers in the East. In the regular season, Cleveland won the series 3-1, but it will be interesting to see how these two teams would match up in the playoffs.
