Billy Brown finally speaks about Ami's sickness, as the Discovery Channel confirms that the "Alaskan Bush People" Season 7 will return this June.

Ami is sick

Recently, there were rumors that spread that Ami Brown has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment in Los Angeles. Now, the Brown family has finally talked about it. In the sneak peek of the new season of "Alaskan Bush People," the patriarch said, "My wife Ami is sick." Billy also revealed that after 34 years of living in the wild, they may have to leave Alaska now.

Billy's statement wasn't specific on what kind of illness Ami Brown is suffering from, but that would likely be revealed when ABP returns on June 14. Two years ago, she reportedly revealed to Radar Online that she has been suffering from cervical radiculitis, which has something to do with a nerve damage in the spine.

When words came out that the production has begun for another season, it was assumed that Season 7 would be part of the 2017-2018 TV season, and might premiere in January just like Season 6. The previous season aired its final episode only last February, with special episodes that followed in March.

So it came quite a surprise when "Alaskan Bush People" has been included in the announcement of Discovery Channel's summer slate of original programming.

Goodbye Browntown?

Words have it that "Alaskan Bush People" Season 7 would be the last season for the reality series, with some teasing that there has been a sudden turn of events which led to the show taking another path. The early airing of the seventh season could be attributed to Ami being sick and perhaps the need for the family to move into the civilization so she can get the medical attention she needs. Discovery's teaser for the new season also said that the Brown family is going to face their darkest hour.

However, there were also reports that the network has no plans to end the show.

Perhaps there could be a spin-off featuring the Brown family in the city? Or the rest of the Brown children could continue their lives in the wild while their parents get their medical treatment somewhere else.

Meanwhile, there were reports that Matt Brown is in critical condition after suffering an injury from an explosive device while filming, per TV Insider. The source said Matt was flown to Sitka and is currently in the ICU. No official statement or confirmation has been released from Discovery or the family, but fans are hoping that Matt is now in good condition.

"Alaskan Bush People" Season 7 premieres on June 14 at 9 p.m. on Discovery Channel.
