Mama June Shannon landed her very first reality television series, “Mama June: From Not to Hot.” The mother of Alana, also known as Honey Boo Boo;s mother, loses a drastic amount of weight and fans are about to see what she has been through.
To lose her weight, the star of "Toddlers & Tiaras" goes through a number of medical operations and now enjoying a healthy lifestyle. As a result, she is now proudly flaunting her sexy body in a new teaser for her upcoming show.
Mama June’s quest into slimmer, healthy body
The 37-year-old once weighed 460 pounds, but with the help of gastric sleeve and skin removal operations, she is now a size four.
Of course, this also comes with a lot of hard work and determination composed of exercise and diet.
Mama June Shannon’s doctors told her to go for a gastric sleeve procedure, instead, as it is a much better alternative than going on a diet. To recall, she has been hospitalized in March 2016 after she fainted due to improper eating.
Moreover, the mother of four’s upcoming television series, “Mama June: From Not to Hot,” will show her transformation’s journey. Here, viewers will see the hardships and struggles that she has been through to have a healthy life.
According to We TV, her home network, the series will allow fans to "follow Mama June as she embarks on a quest of self-discovery that will redefine who she is as a woman, mother, lover and celebrity." In fact, it is the first time that Mama June Shannon is seen on camera since she obtained her slimmer physique.
New wedding episode spoilers
In the upcoming new episode, she is seen talking to her daughter, Alana, as she is about to walk the aisle as a flower girl in an upcoming wedding of her father Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson. Mama June Shannon is forced by her kid and her other daughter Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon to fit a wedding dress.
“The girls want me to try on a wedding dress because I haven’t been in a dress since I started losing weight,” she said. However, she is afraid that her fiancée, Jennifer Lamb, will catch her fitting on a bridal gown.
Her kids only want her to embrace her new body and appreciate the weight she has lost. Hence, they pick up a size 12 dress that perfectly suits her. “I mean I’m not getting married anytime soon, but I’m kind of curious how I’m gonna look in the wedding dress,” she explained.
