Paul George has spoken. I will let his words tell his side of the story, and I will interpret what he said. This guy has really put his foot in his mouth after all this time we have spent talking about him going to the Lakers. He literally cannot go to the Lakers now that he has said this because he will look like a flake, a liar, and a jerk.
His words
"We've been on an unbelievable start right now, and for him to be committed here, it says a lot," George explained, according to ESPN. "Not only in us pairing together, but just knowing what type of dude Russ is and his values and his beliefs and him being committed to this organization says a lot.
And I'm one person that's enjoying it here, so I think when that time comes, the decision will be easier to make for myself."
George has gone and put his foot in his mouth by saying that he likes it in Oklahoma City and lauded everyone from Russell Westbrook to the organization. He is praising the organization for the work they have done, and he already sounds like he has made his decision. Remember when he supposedly wanted to go to the Lakers? The Pacers traded him to the Thunder, and it looks like he wants to Stay now. That makes him look ridiculous, and it probably makes the Lakers very angry.
What if he goes to LA?
I am an avowed Lakers fan who will be disappointed if he comes to LA at this point.
I think it is particularly messed up to be someone who says one thing through your actions and then will change your mind in literally a couple practices. You should have said nothing at all, but George did not. The reason I did not want him on the Lakers is because I know it will only be a few moments before he turns on the team.
People have said on sports radio that George is not a peach to work with, and that tells me that this guy simply does what he pleases without taking an inventory of what he says. That is really sad for him because he will always look like a flake.
Who loses?
I can tell you that the Thunder are not losing, but they will not be able to beat the Warriors.
Effectively, George will give the franchise hope and never pull through. I used to believe in him until I realized what he was all about. It is in that one quote. He thinks that this is a silly little game, but there are jobs and livelihoods at stake. People will get fired because of this, and he probably does not care. Also, the Pacers must feel great knowing they got rid of someone who must have been a cancer in the locker room. No wonder they could not beat the Heat or Cavs. I want my playoff ticket money back.
