George Clooney and his wife, human rights lawyer amal clooney, will help more than 3,000 Syrian kids by putting them through school. The charity Clooney Foundation for Justice will fund the education of these children.

Clooney Foundation for Justice will also work closely with HP and Google in order to extend help to UNICEF and the Lebanese Ministry of Education. These companies and organizations are set to put up seven second shift schools to serve as the learning centers for these Syrian refugee children. These second shift schools have morning and afternoon schedules in order to accommodate more than 3,000 children.

George and Amal on their good deed

According to The Telegraph, the actor and the lawyer said that they do not want to lose a whole generation just because they were "born in the wrong place at the wrong time.” They pointed out that thousands of these Syrian refugees are at risk because if they don't receive education, they will not be a "productive part of society.”

The couple also said that although these Syrian refugee children are victims of geography and circumstance, it does not mean that there is no hope. Their goal is to help provide these kids with “an education and put them on a path to be the future leaders” that their generation needs, USA Today reported.

Google, HP, and the Clooney Foundation was able to raise more than $3.25 million in donations to help with the funds for school supplies, computers, content, curriculum, transportation, and for training the teachers.

The foundation of George and Amal contributed more than $2 million.

Lebanon’s Minister of Education responds to assistance

Lebanon’s Minister Of Education, Marwan Hamade, released a statement following the announcement of the Clooneys. He said that their government is “profoundly grateful” for the assistance given because they decided to support the country’s efforts to open the doors of public schools for every child living in Lebanon and give them access to Free Education, India Times shared.

Clooney Foundation for Justice established last year

George and Amal established their Clooney Foundation for Justice just last year in order to push for equity not only in classrooms but also in communities and courtrooms from any part of the world.

This June, George and Amal welcomed their twin babies, Ella and Alexander. A French magazine recently took photos of the babies without the couple's permission, resulting in the actor slamming them and seeking to press charges against them.
