"Fortnite Battle Royale" has managed to establish itself as one of the most popular video games for over a year now. The video game, which was released in September 2017, reached its peak in early 2018 and has kept gaining more players and viewers on streaming platforms. Epic Games has been releasing constant changes to the game ever since it was released, which is one of the biggest reasons why it has become so popular.
The video game developer has experimented with a lot of things in "Fortnite Battle Royale," and this isn't going to change anytime soon.
While players are patiently waiting for the v8.30 patch, the "Fortnite" creator has revealed some things that will come in future updates. One of the changes will be an in-game skin change, and its goal will be to prevent stream snipers from being successful in taking streamers down.
The skin change
One of the biggest problems "Fortnite Battle Royale" streamers deal with are stream snipers. There are a lot of players who try to get into streamers' lobbies with the purpose of landing at the same spot as streamers and taking them down. While the Streamer Mode in the game and streaming delay on Twitch and other platforms help, they don't completely stop stream snipers from achieving their goals.
A lot of big-name streamers have complained about this problem, including Ninja and Tfue. Epic Games has been trying to find a solution for the issue, but it appears that nothing has worked so far. However, there is a new feature that is going to be released soon, and this feature should prevent stream snipers from being successful.
Reddit user datboyakin recently posted an interesting suggestion which should help with the stream sniper issue. "I think streamer mode when turned on should put a different skin on the streamer's character server side to the one they are wearing client/streamer side. This would add an extra layer of protection when snipers go hunting for streamers in games," is what the Redditor suggested.
DanDaDaDanDan, which is the name of one of the developers on the social network, posted that this is a feature in active development. Unfortunately, the feature will not be released in the v8.30 update, but we can expect it to come out during Season 8.
Will this help?
The upcoming feature should prevent stream snipers from tracking down and eliminating streamers. Not only will it make it much more difficult to eliminate the right target, but even if they take the streamer down, it won't be as satisfying. However, there is no doubt that Epic Games should be stricter with "Fortnite Battle Royale" stream snipers and possibly consider permanent account bans for them.
