Respawn Entertainment is currently working on improving "Apex Legends" and making the game more entertaining and fun for its players. The video game developer released Season 1 a few weeks ago, which hasn't been a huge success so far. However, there is no doubt that a lot more content is coming to the video game, and we can expect it to become even more popular, very soon.

"Apex Legends" has been drastically losing viewers on popular streaming websites, especially Twitch, but it appears that it's managed to keep most of its players. Respawn Entertainment has announced a big change that will come to the game soon, and it turns out there will be some penalties for players who leave matches early.

The game developer has revealed some details about the penalty system which was accidentally released with the v1.1 patch last week.

Players will be penalized for being bad teammates

Respawn Entertainment has accidentally released the penalty system with the v1.1 patch, but the system was quickly disabled since it wasn't ready for the official release. According to the developer, the system punished players who left the game early, and it will be added to the game soon.

It is important to note that players will be penalized only for leaving their squad while they are alive. If the team is not full, there will be no penalty. Additionally, if a player dies during a match, they are allowed to leave the game without any consequences.

The penalty will be applied only to players who leave the match while they are still alive, as this makes the game unbalanced and ruins the fun for other players on the team.

"So internally, we have been working on and testing this feature but it wasn't our intention or plan to have it go live with the update that went out today.

There was a piece of script that was missing and caused the leaving match early penalty to be turned on when it shouldn't be," is what one of the developers posted on Reddit.

The improvement

Considering that a lot of players play "Apex Legends" with random teammates, the penalty system will be a huge improvement. Many players are impatient when it comes to waiting for teammates to revive them or they simply quit the game if another player picks their favorite legend.

In both of these scenarios, the team whose player left is put at a huge disadvantage as going 1v3 or 2v3 in the final fight can be very challenging.

At the moment, it is unknown when exactly Respawn Entertainment will release the penalty system to "Apex Legends." It is also unknown what these penalties will be, but we can expect penalized players to be banned from entering another match for at least 30 minutes after being penalized.
