Earlier this week, Epic Games leaked the news that the Android port of "Fortnite" will not be available on Google Play Store. Now, Google has also issued a notice, to those people who search "Fortnite Battle Royale" in the Play Store, that the official game is not available for the store. This notice will protect unknowing people from downloading malicious apps from Play Store.

Google to lose millions of dollars

According to TechCrunch, Google will lose more than $50 million in 2018 due to Epic Games' bypassing the Google Play Store as a medium for downloading "Fortnite." Epic Games took this step due to Google's policy of 30 percent revenue cut from every in-app purchase made from apps and games on the Play Store. Apple has a similar policy, and it earned them over $54 million from "Fortnite" ever since it released as an iOS exclusive in March.

This move can help Epic Games earn millions of dollars from Android platform, but it also puts Android users on risk. The game can only be downloaded from the official "Fortnite" website, but users are asked to allow application installation from "unknown sources."

After users download the "Fortnite Installer" they are asked to disable the permissions in order to keep their device secured.

This means that Epic Games are already aware of the risk of downloading apps from outside of Google Play Store.
