A few weeks ago, after being teased several times, Blizzard finally revealed the new hero of "Overwatch," Brigitte. Brigitte is the newest character to join the "Overwatch" roster and she's an armor-clad support hero.

Brigitte is the youngest daughter of the mechanically-inclined hero, Torbjorn, and the traveling companion and apprentice of Reinhardt. Blizzard revealed that Brigitte is Torbjorn's first child, who showed interest in mechanical engineering, but unlike her father, Brigitte's primary interests were armor fabrication and defensive systems.

Brigitte's abilities

Rocket Flail - Melee attack that can strike multiple enemies with a single swing.

Repair Pack - Repair Packs can heal allies and any healing over ally's maximum health grants them armor instead.

Barrier Shield - A frontal energy barrier that absorbs a limited amount of damage.

Whip Shot - Long distance flail attack that knocks enemies away from her.

Rally - Brigitte moves faster and provides all nearby allies with armor that lasts until it’s removed by damage.

Shield Bash - Can dash forward with Barrier Shield and stun enemies.

Expected release

Brigitte, the 27th hero of "Overwatch," has been released into the public test realm, and soon, the new character will be available to all players.

Based on previous releases of new characters in "Overwatch," fans should expect the new character to be launched three weeks after entering the PTR. If you look back to Ana, the hero was released in the main game one week after she appeared in the PTR.

And if Blizzard follows the previous pattern, Brigitte will make her PC, XBOX and PS4 debut in the next week.

Want to know more about Brigitte?

The lead writer of "Overwatch," Micheal Chu, will be hosting a Twitter Q&A all about the new character of the game. So if you have any questions about Brigitte, head to Twitter and submit your question with the BrigitteLore tag in your tweet.

It's only been a day since the tweet and Twitter is already being flooded with questions about the new hero.

It's too early to say anything about the character's lore, but it seems like the creators of "Overwatch," Blizzard Entertainment, did not think of adding Brigitte to the hero roster back in 2016. One user on Twitter asked about the Christmas image from "Overwatch" that showed Torbjorn with some kids. The official Twitter account of "Overwatch" first claimed that they were Torbjorn's children, but now they are saying that those kids are his grandkids.
